Street Art

Street Art is a unique opportunity for young people aged 13-25 years to express themselves creatively & learn street art legally under the guidance and supervision of a professional artist on otherwise neglected and run down urban spaces in Hackney resulting in their renovation with exciting pieces of art work and young people taking renewed pride in their community.

Background

Street Art has gained considerable interest since it began in June 2008 from various local organisations and City institutions, including Rothschild Bank, Metro Imaging, Chats Palace Arts Centre and Village Underground.

Metro imaging photographed the first few programmes and Rothschild Bank and Chats Palace exhibited the images at exhibitions in November 2008. The exhibitions were a huge success and there are plans to tour future exhibitions around other venues in London in the future.

SkyWay has delivered a number of street art sessions for youth clubs throughout London, including the Damilola Taylor Centre.
