SkyWay Volunteers

Volunteers are individuals who put their expertise, knowledge and skills at the disposal of an organisation, free of charge, with the primary aim of helping the organisation to achieve its objectives and to bring some benefit to the local community.

• Volunteers have always supported SkyWay in a variety of activities such as providing administrative assistance, event stewarding, marketing, website development, fund-raising, research, I.T. support and supporting young people to learn.
  
  
• Volunteers are essential for SkyWay to continue our work within the community; with potential volunteers, organisations, businesses and statutory authorities to enhance SkyWay's services and projects and to enable SkyWay to develop our services to their fullest potential.
  
  
• Volunteers bring additional skills, experience and a community perspective to the organisation.
  
  
• Volunteers represent SkyWay throughout this community and promote further volunteering opportunities for the community.

At SkyWay young people are employed on a sessional basis to run some of the existing training programmes whilst developing their entrepreneurial ideas.

We would like to encourage these young people in their first real job, in a supported environment whilst they develop their skills and abilities towards further training or employment

Trustees

SkyWay currently has a full trustee board. However, if you are interested in becoming a trustee in the future please get in touch to talk about the role.

SkyWay would be delighted to be your company charity of the year! We can help you create an exciting and mutually beneficial Charity of the Year partnership.

There are a number of ways your company can support us from volunteering at one of our programmes, payroll giving, through employee fundraising to mentoring a young person, or creating your own events.

SkyWay has experience of working with a variety of different companies and organisations.

Filmmaking

If you have filmmaking skills then we would like you to support young people to make Movies about the community and support them to bid for funds to further develop this Area of work.

• Volunteering as stewards or referees for Late Night football Tournaments

Hackney Help

• A Metropolitan Police, Crown Prosecution Service and Hackney Council fundraisinf event
• Running and cycling in non-stop relay from Hackney to the French Mediterranean coast to raise money for SkyWay, Macmillan Cancer Support and Chance UK
