Sports Programmes

Football is extremely popular with the young people of Hackney and accounts for much of the sports activities SkyWay offers. This includes Teenage Kicks, an annual 6 & 7-a-side football tournament for young people aged 12 - 18 years, and the SkyWay 7-a-side Football League, where young people play alongside teams from the local community, the local police force and City firms, which runs on Friday nights for 16 – 24 year olds.

In line with SkyWay's mission to offer youth led programmes, we deliver F.A. football coaching and referee qualification courses for young people. Once qualified, there are opportunities for young people to become Peer Coaches and accompany the SkyWay team in delivering our programmes.

Basketball is also hugely popular in Hackney and SkyWay's basketball tournament for young people aged 12-21years, Teenage Hoops, has proved extremely successful.

What's On...

Throughout school holidays SkyWay runs multi-sports programmes for 8-21 year olds. Young people receive coaching by qualified sports coaches and each week a fun day trip is taken to reward good attendance.

SkyWay’s work with United Allstars football club in Southwark commences this summer. 

Every Sunday from 11am to 1pm during August there will be coaching sessions for children who have will be going into year 2 to year 7 at school in September (this means 6 to 11 year olds).  The sessions are in association with Fulham FC’s Academy Talent Programme.  The coaching will take place at Burgess Park Astroturf pitch, Cobourg Road, SE5.  For more details click here.
