SkyWay Charity Community Based Reparation

SkyWay are very pleased to have been awarded the Community Based Reparation contract in March 2010 by Team Hackney, the project will start in April 2010 and run till April 2012.

SkyWay will work in partnership with Hackney Youth Offending Team to place low risk young people on reparation orders in an appropriate placement with a host organisation. The aim of the partnership is to expand and diversify the current opportunities available to young people on reparation orders.

The Project will offer young people the opportunity to contribute their time to benefit the community whilst also giving them the opportunity to learn new skills and experience new activities. This project will also be working with the young people on their personal development through mentoring and one to one work.

Benefits to the host organisations will include:

  • Start up training for the organisation
  • Up-skilling of the organisation where required
  • Bursary for the organisation

The project would take into account the view of the victim in any placement and would complement reparation work between victims and offenders.
